We left home in sunshine, and traveled to Hood River for lunch at the Big Horse Brew Pub where we had delicious Fish and Chips. Then we were off down I-84 toward Pendelton.

And down the Oregon Trail toward La Grande and Baker, Oregon.

Then into Idaho and Sun Valley.

Where we spent the 2nd night at the Best Western in the shadow of Mt Baldy. You could even pick out the Round House from Ketchum.

We went to Whiskey Jaques for a drink then dinner next door at the Sawtooth Grill (Idaho Trout is tasty!).

The next day we went north over Galena pass (8701 ft) to Stanley (after a stop at Redfish Lake). And continued to Glacier National Park.

We spent the next night at Lake McDonald Lodge after driving the "Going to the Sun" road to the highest pass in Glacier - Logan Pass, at 6647 ft, but more importantly, on the Continental Divide.

As Jane was driving, I had to take a photo of the solid granite wall that was so close to my pickup, that I had to retract the rear view mirror!

After spending that night at Lake McDonald, we headed for Bonner's Ferry, Idaho, for lunch at the Kootenai River Brewing Pub, then south thru Sandpoint, ID, and Hayden Lake (didn't hear any gunshots :) and spent the last night on the road in Moses Lake. The last day, we left Moses Lake at 10 AM, made the summit of Chinook Pass at 1 PM, and were back in Westport (via Route 12 to I-5, and Route 6 thru Pe Ell to Raymond and home).
